The All Saints School, a K-through-12 private
institution, in 1999 welcomed the completion of the Roger's Media
Center, a multi-media learning center featuring conventional
library, computer server services, computer class rooms and administrative
offices. The
two story edifice is a brick veneered, steel frame structure with
standing seam metal roof system with ample skylighting and clerestory
lobby areas.
The man for whom the building is named, Robert
Rogers, was an innovator in the cable television industry starting
his first cable television business in the 1950's. Without his
financial and community support, the construction of this building
would not have been possible. Until his death three years ago,
Mr. Rogers was CEO of TCA Cable with cable markets all over the
south.
The building features state-of-the-art computer
systems with cable and satellite technologies. Computer laboratory space enables
students to learn, not only computer basics, but advanced
concepts in motion picture editing and graphics not generally available
to students of this age.
Architect for the project was Mike Butler,
AIA of Fitzpatrick-Butler, Architects, Tyler, Texas. Brannon
Corporation furnished site civil engineer, air conditioning/heating,
electrical systems design, plumbing design, lighting design,
structural concrete and steel design.
The project was built by C-Construction Company, also of Tyler,
Texas under a 'construction manager at risk' format. Total cost
of the project was just under $2.5 million. |
